🦸‍♂️ Introducing the Ambassador Programme: Your Opportunity to Shape the Future of CTO Craft

How you can help the CTO Craft community?

Hello, hello, hello! It's... Wednesday!

Welcome to a very special issue of Tech Manager Weekly - we have an important announcement this week to share with you, so please listen in…

A little over a week ago, CTO Craft celebrated its 8th anniversary, and sent out the 400th issue of TMW - the week before that, we ran our 4th in-person conference in Berlin, and this week we launched tickets for our next flagship event in London in March next year. We’ve come a long way…

A Brief History

CTO Craft started back at the end of 2016 when a small network of CTOs and I started networking over coffee and pastries, comparing notes and the issues we faced every day.

It was an exercise in building validation and stress-relief, and the model evolved into our very first CTO Craft Circle. We quickly added a Slack community, ran some events, added 1:1 coaching for CTOs, and the brand took on a life of its own.

With the pandemic landing on the world in early 2020, we discovered more and more technology leaders needed a way to stay connected with peers. They were experiencing stress and worry at much higher levels than we’d ever seen before. The community suddenly exploded, and it hasn’t slowed down…

Since that period, CTO Craft has evolved into a vibrant global community of over 20,000 tech leaders. Our mission remains the same: to empower CTOs and other senior technology and engineering leaders to continuously learn, grow, and thrive in their careers.

Those of you in the community itself will know that it’s a warm, welcoming and generous space full of thousands of people who encounter the same struggles all technology leaders face. We vet all members to ensure there is no selling or spam, and all conversations happen under the Chatham House Rule for confidentiality.

Alongside the main community, we provide an ever-growing library of content, guides, courses, videos and assessments in our premium learning platform, CTO Craft Campus, launched in 2023. Based on feedback from you, Campus is being evolved into a gateway to access resources and services for CTO Craft Members moving forward.

So what’s next?

In February 2024 we announced our growth plans at a showcase event in London, where we outlined how we wanted to partner with CTO Craft members and partners to scale CTO Craft even further.

After a very short description of the plan, we were immediately approached by several members of the CTO Craft community and investors who wanted to take part. They became our Founding Investors for a new programme that officially launches today - CTO Craft Ambassadors.

Introducing the CTO Craft Ambassador Program

We’re inviting all members of CTO Craft and readers of Tech Manager Weekly to join the team as CTO Craft Ambassadors, the most exclusive level of membership we’ll be offering.

Ambassadors will be our VIP members with many benefits on top of access to all the resources we currently offer, and become part-owners in CTO Craft as investors.

The CTO Craft Ambassador Program in More Detail

As a CTO Craft Ambassador, you'll be a key member of our community and a vital contributor to our success. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Invest in CTO Craft: Become a part-owner of the company and benefit from potential financial returns - for UK residents, this also includes the benefits of EIS tax relief.
  • Discounted Circles and free Campus membership: join one of our exclusive peer support groups for 50% of the usual membership cost, and access thousands of learning resources for free.
  • Represent CTO Craft: Be a spokesperson for the community and promote its mission and values.
  • Shape the community: Contribute to community initiatives and discussions, and help to shape the direction of CTO Craft.
  • Network with other Ambassadors: Connect with other Ambassadors from around the world and build lasting relationships.
  • Participate in exclusive events: Attend exclusive events and conferences, and meet with industry leaders.
